Abercrombie is one of Sydney's most iconic independent music venues. Heritage-listed and sitting at the heart of Chippendale, it's a multi-level space built for people who come for the music and stay for everything else.
The ground floor is the engine room, a proper club space and public bar where Friday nights belong to Sydney's best promoter crews, and every Saturday, PLAYNICE Confidential takes over. A night open to all and built on music. No door policy, no pretension, just a crowd that's up for it.
Head upstairs and the rooftop opens out over the Chippendale skyline - a place to start the night with a drink in the open air, and a reason to stay when things pick up. Midweek, it's a different pace: good food, a rotating programme of DJs, Music Bingo, Trivia and a local spot that earns its place as Chippendale's closest thing to a living room.
With a 24-hour license and a programme that runs from Tuesday through to Sunday morning, there's always something worth coming for.
